Overview

With the SAP CCM module subsequent conditions on the purchasing side are managed and settled with the vendor. In the retail sector it has long been common practice that in addition to the direct conditions on the invoice condition revenues are also generated via subsequent conditions using a condition contract.

Outside of the retail sector for example in the manufacturing industry or the energy sector purchasing has so far focused on direct conditions. These were usually well negotiated especially for production consumables and margins were largely exhausted.

Other areas of purchasing however such as spare parts procurement or the purchasing of services were not developed for subsequent condition settlement even though there is significant potential for condition revenues. One key reason for this was the lack of an IT supported way to create settle and manage such contracts. With the use of SAP CCM in S/4 HANA it is now possible to unlock this potential for condition revenues which typically exceed the project costs for implementing the module by a multiple.
